Over 120 people visited the Ramsay Clan Tent over the two days. Apart from a shower early on the Sunday morning, the weather was quite kind.

The Gathering 2009 was opened by HRH Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, on the Saturday morning. He had requested that he and Camilla, Duchess of Rothesay, be introduced to a senior representative from each of the 120 clans. The Chief had selected Baron George Ramsay from Finland for this task. HRH was quite impressed to be confonted with a Finnish Baron, something which few other clans can claim! We were also fortunate to be joined by Paul Ramsay of Bamff and several of his family. Paul's branch is the oldest recorded continuing branch and will be celebrating 800 years of living at Bamff in a few years.

The Ramsay Tent was bedecked with The Chief's banner, the iconic black eagle from his coat of arms, as well as the newly chosen red Ramsay tartan. Holyrood Park provided plenty to do for both young and old. Many members took part in the Clan Parade on the Saturday evening, and quite a few joined Eddie Ramsay's splendid tour of the Royal Mile on the Sunday.

We have been fortunate to receive some 400 photographs from clan members and others. To present them in a digestible form, we have split them into 4 galleries as shown below. For convenience, we chose Google's Picasa Web Albums to host the galleries and images. However, the galleries are not visible or available to the public at large, only through the links below. There are at least 70 individuals in the photos. Each picture has a caption listing their names. However, to keep the length of captions to a minimum, only first names have been used (except for The Chief and those with identical first names, like the two Alices). To help you identify individuals, see the 'Cast of Characters' web page. If any people remain incorrectly named, or unidentified, please let us know via the Contact page.
